 Welcome to Chateau Marouatte
.
Chateau Marouatte is where I hold all my retreats.  Chateau Marouatte is a stunning 12th Century fortified castle steeped in history and now fully restored as a wondrous family home.

Set in 270 acres of forest and meadows in the Dordogne region of South Western France known as the Perigord Vert, the area is known for its rolling green hills, meandering rivers and rustic charm.

Surrounded by high fortified walls with 8 towers, the castle is divided into two parts.
the inner bailey dating from 13th to 15th centuries and the Troubadour wing and outbuildings of the outer bailey built in 1569.

It is said some parts are even older and may go as far back as Roman times.

The castle is a 55 minute drive from Angouleme train station with fast trains to Paris in just under 2 hours, CDG airport in 3 and Bordeaux in half an hour.
